The High Rise Gets a Face Lift
Honestly…. The can of paint said bake @ 300 for 2 hours…. So we did….
The Engine and Trans Go Back In
But not before I paint the whole underside of the care and the frame and the firewall…
The Engine Back From The Machine Shop
Back from the machine shop, new crank, line boared, 30 over pistons and all the new parts bolted on…. now we had to make the “carpet match the drapes” …. 4 coats of red and 5 coats of clear….
Then The Trans Come Out For an “Inspection”
While the Engine was out it only made sense to get the Trans looked at…. When the Tranny shop owner said “does this thing actually change gears?” I knew we were in trouble…. That was confirmed when pieces actually fell out of the tranny as we took it apart…. It’s all new now!
She comes apart Again!
After discovering that the bad crank shaft was causing all the engine headaches, we decided to pull the engine. The engine needed a new crank and while the crank was out it needed new bearings… and then while it was apart we had may as well put pistons in it…. and a heavier cam… and solid lifters… and aluminum heads… and new valve springs…. and …. and … the rest is history.
The New Air cleaner / Scoop are installed
